Job Summary

The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) works in partnership with 15 National Boards to implement the national regulatory scheme for health professionals. The purpose of health practitioner regulation is to protect the public by ensuring that only health practitioners who have the skills qualifications and knowledge to provide safe care are registered.

The Procurement Specialist plays a key role in delivering endtoend procurement services that support Ahpras regulatory mission and ensure strong governance value for money and probity.

This is a full time permanent opportunity preferably based in either our Melbourne or Brisbane offices working a hybrid arrangement.

Reporting within Finance and Procurement this role partners closely with stakeholders across the organisation to enable effective sourcing supplier engagement and contract outcomes. The Procurement Specialist contributes to strategic sourcing and category management (particularly professional services) applies market intelligence and data insights and supports continuous improvement in procurement systems and capability.

You will work in a highly regulated national environment where sound judgement strong stakeholder engagement and highquality advice are essential to achieving compliant and commercially sound outcomes.

In this role you will

  • Deliver endtoend procurement activities (RFQs RFTs evaluations negotiations and contracts) in line with policy and governance requirements.
  • Provide timely customerfocused procurement advice and support to stakeholders across the organisation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers to enable effective sourcing outcomes.
  • Prepare highquality sourcing documentation evaluation reports recommendation papers and support contract drafting.
  • Contribute to category strategies through market engagement spend analysis and procurement insights.
  • Support and drive continuous improvement of procurement systems tools and processes (including Portt).
  • Monitor procurement compliance and contribute to reporting and governance requirements.

About you

You are a procurement professional with strong endtoend experience in a regulated or government environment and a sound understanding of procurement policy probity and valueformoney principles. You are confident advising stakeholders managing multiple priorities and delivering highquality procurement outcomes in a complex nationally focused organisation.

As the ideal candidate you will demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrated endtoend procurement experience in a regulated or government environment.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and advisory capability with welldeveloped influencing skills.
  • Highquality written communication skills including procurement documentation and reporting.
  • Sound commercial capability including analysis and negotiation experience.
  • A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to contribute to process improvement and procurement capability uplift.
