Job Summary

Our Academy launched in 2019 with a mission to bridge the gap between skilled junior talent and opportunities in tech. We provide a free training course that empowers individuals from diverse backgrounds to become effective leaders in the technology sector.
This Engagement Lead role is a maternity cover position and offers flexibility depending on experience. It can be positioned as a standalone Engagement Lead role focused purely on delivering a best-in-class Academy experience or for candidates with prior leadership experience it can include management responsibility for the wider Academy team.
The role is essential in ensuring we continue to deliver high-quality support and learning experiences to our associates while driving engagement community and outcomes across the Academy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the engagement strategy for the Academy ensuring effective communication and connection with students throughout their journey
- Organise and facilitate workshops events and networking opportunities that enhance the learning experience and professional development of students
- Monitor student progress and provide ongoing support to drive retention progression and successful outcomes
- Collaborate with the recruitment team to understand industry expectations and reflect these within the Academy experience
- Gather feedback from students and alumni to continuously improve the Academys offering and support services
- Act as a spokesperson for the Academy at external events promoting our mission and showcasing success stories
Requirements
- Proven experience in engagement education community management or a similar role within a tech learning or early careers environment
- Ability to build strong relationships and foster meaningful connections with diverse groups including students alumni and internal stakeholders
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage inspire and influence a range of audiences
- Experience designing and delivering events workshops or programmes that create impactful learning and development experiences
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability with the ability to respond to evolving student needs and priorities
For more experienced candidates:
- Experience leading or managing teams with the ability to provide direction coaching and support where required
- Confidence in taking ownership of team performance engagement outcomes and overall Academy delivery

This maternity cover role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the next generation of tech talent. Depending on experience it can be shaped as either a standalone Engagement Lead role or a broader position with team management responsibility providing scope to influence both strategy and delivery within a mission-driven inclusive organisation.
