The Opportunity / Lopportunité

The Senior Operations Technologist supports safe reliable and efficient operations by providing advanced technical and operational process expertise supporting planning for complex and highrisk work and developing technician capability across Canada Gas Operations.

Key Responsibilities/ Responsabilités principales

• Support Control of Work and upcoming TC Energy Operations Management Systems (TOMS) initiatives.
• Coach technicians in area/pipe outage leadership preventative and corrective maintenance bundling and competency development.
• Serve as SME for regionspecific technologies and provide design review support.
• Support the development of scopes and outage execution documentation for highrisk or complex pipe/area outages
• Supports Operations Technicians on major or complex projects.
• Support highrisk work readiness and SIMOPS coordination.
• Lead annual PSSR planning and mentor PSSR leads.
• Facilitate MOC initiation and identify required entries.
• Evaluate technicians performing highrisk tasks.
• Support sustainment of operational programs and work instructions.

• Soutient les techniciens dopérations Techniciens sur des projets majeurs ou complexes
• Soutient la préparation des travaux à haut risque et la coordination SIMOPS (opérations simultanées)
• Dirige la planification annuelle PSSR (revue de sécurité préalable au démarrage) et encadre les responsables PSSR
• Facilite linitiation des MOC (gestion des changements) et identifie les entrées requises
• Évalue les techniciens effectuant des tâches à haut risque
• Soutient le maintien des programmes opérationnels et des instructions de travail

Minimum Qualifications/ Qualifications Minimales

• Post-Secondary education in a relevant field of study
• This posting is open to multiple different trade disciplines (Electrician Instrumentation & Controls Mechanic / Millwright Corrosion Prevention Pipe etc.)
• 15 years of relevant work experience; an equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered
• Extensive operational and technical experience within pipeline or industrial operations
• Advanced competency in risk management process safety and operational processes
• Strong leadership coaching and communication skills
• Ability to lead complex outage planning and technical troubleshooting
• Experience supporting multidisciplinary engineering and field operations teams
• Formation postsecondaire dans un domaine détudes pertinent

• Capacité à diriger la planification dinterruptions complexes et le dépannage technique
• Expérience dans le soutien déquipes multidisciplinaires dingénierie et dopérations sur le terrain

Preferred Qualifications/Qualifications préférées

• Formal qualifications such as a Red Seal Electrician Instrumentation & Controls Mechanic or Millwright. Strong preference given to those with multiple designations.
• Knowledge and familiarity with TC Energys business vision strategies practices processes and systems
• Extensive experience preferably in a energy infrastructure linear infrastructure or aerospace technician role
• Qualifications formelles telles que un Sceau Rouge délectricien dinstrumentation et contrôles de mécanicien ou de mécanicien-monteur. Forte préférence accordée aux candidats possédant plusieurs désignations.

• This will involve some overnight stays away from home base
