The opportunity

A technically strong professional accountant is sought for maternity leave cover in an internal finance role within the Global External Reporting Team.

The Global External Reporting Team in London is a core part of the Global Accounting Team supporting the EY network across the globe. The team is responsible for preparing and reviewing statutory accounts including consolidations for various Global EY entities. The team also provides technical accounting advice to global finance leadership in support of decisions impacting the EY network. The teams position within the global finance function gives team members exposure to senior management in the UK and globally resulting in a varied and wide-ranging workload. The role involves collaborative working with colleagues in other functions and external auditors to support the year-end financial reporting process. The team is motivated friendly and supportive and is well-regarded within finance.

Whilst this is not a client facing team being part of EY provides the successful candidate with the opportunity to gain experience in an industry role supported by a vast network of experienced finance and other professionals not readily available outside of the professional accounting firm environment.

An opportunity has arisen for a Financial Reporting Accountant to join the team to support the preparation of statutory accounts including consolidated group accounts and to help support the year-end external audit process.

Your key responsibilities:

Active involvement in supporting the year-end financial reporting process including auditor liaison
Preparation and review of multi-currency consolidations and group financial statements
Preparation and review of standalone financial statements
Liaising with a broad spectrum of internal stakeholders including tax legal internal technical experts and other internal functions
Ad hoc projects analysis and reporting

Skills and attributes for success:

Technically strong with excellent understanding of IFRS and UK company law (as it applies to financial reporting)
Analytical and logical mindset with attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams across multiple countries
Proactive able to operate independently and flexible in managing multiple demands
ACA/ACCA recently qualified accountant
