A vacancy has arisen for a Sgt (Engineering Any TG1) to serve as an Apprenticeship Progress Coordinator at RAF Cosford on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS) with an initial proposed start date of 07 September 2026 (or earlier/later subject to candidate status).
The post requires a Level 3 Vocational Assessor qualification; full training will be given to applicants who do not already hold this qualification.
Job Description
- The post holder will be responsible through the respective unit Line Management to OC Aeronautical Engineering Apprenticeship Flight (OC AEAF) at RAF Cosford to ensure RAF TG1 & 13 Level 2 and 3 Aeronautical Engineering Apprentices complete all aspects of their respective Apprenticeship Standards.
- Planning preparing and facilitating a regular programme of EPA workshops. Assisting Apprentices in preparing for their End Point Assessment (EPA) helping them understand the assessment criteria reviewing draft submissions and providing feedback.
- Regular review assessment management and welfare of RAF TG1 & 13 Aeronautical Engineering Apprentices. The role is parented at RAF Cosford and may include some work requiring overnight stays at MOBs throughout the UK.
- Planning and administration of progress reviews to establish learner progression against the completion of their Apprenticeship review previous targets set new targets record and monitor Off the Job Training to ensure minimum requirement achieved monitor for any welfare safeguarding or prevent concerns and reporting as necessary.
- The assessment and cross mapping of evidence for the work-based qualifications.
- Establishing and maintaining a good level of understanding of the component parts of the Apprenticeship Frameworks and Standards relevant to TG1 & TG13 Apprentices.
- Ensuring all paper and electronic documents and records are updated reviewed stored and kept secure as necessary.
- Assisting with support functions such as Assurance activities feasibility studies and the development and review of Apprenticeship Standards orders and processes.
- Maintaining annual Continual Professional Development (CPD) for the role.
- Acting as a focal point for Apprenticeship and EPA enquiries.
