The Executive Director of Nursing (EDON) provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for all nursing services at Lancaster Hospital. This role is responsible for advancing nursing practice ensuring excellence in patient care driving quality and safety initiatives and fostering a culture of engagement and professional growth. The EDON collaborates with medical staff hospital leadership and the divisional nursing leadership team to align nursing strategies with MUSC Healths mission vision and values.

Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic leadership to drive high-quality safe and patient-centered nursing care across all inpatient and outpatient service lines.
Oversee nursing operations staffing and financial performance to ensure efficiency productivity and optimal resource utilization.
Lead nursing quality initiatives and evidence-based practice integration to achieve superior patient outcomes and meet or exceed regulatory and accreditation standards.
Partner with the Divisional Chief Nursing Officer hospital leadership and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement organizational strategies goals and performance improvement plans.
Mentor and develop nursing leaders and staff to build a strong pipeline for future leadership roles.
Ensure compliance with policies procedures and state and federal regulations.
Actively engage in community and professional partnerships to enhance the hospitals reputation and attract top nursing talent.

Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Expertise in performance improvement and evidence-based practice.

Required Education:
Experience:
Required Licensure Certifications Registrations:
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license with the South Carolina Board of Nursing or an approved compact state.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
Leadership certification (e.g. NE-BC NEA-BC CENP) preferred.
