Job Summary

Education/Experience:

  • Must be a graduate of an AAPA-accredited school with current licensure to practice in the state of Ohio (and Kentucky if the job duties require).
  • Desire a minimum of five years of experience in an acute health care setting.

Essential Functions:

  • Help develop and maintain a corporate culture that supports the mission and values of Mayfield Clinic.
  • Schedule Expectations: 5 8/hr. workdays 2 clinic days and 3 days in surgery with a physician or as requested by the physician to meet patient needs. On days not in surgery it is expected that clinic time be added to his/her schedule.
  • Meet post-operative and non-operative medical management patients in the office and assess their condition; establish and maintain treatment plans; dictate chart notes.

  • Act as a liaison between physician and patient by providing the patient with instruction from the physician advising the physician of the patients needs and assuring that the physician is available to the patient whenever necessary in person or by telephone.

  • Serve as first assist in surgery when indicated.

  • Document all patient interactions promptly and thoroughly into the patients medical record. Maintain the internal order and arrangement of the patients medical record including a record of phone calls changes in prescriptions etc.

  • Perform clinical rounds on inpatients and collaborate with the appropriate medical staff to meet patient needs. Rounding expectations at this time will be every other weekend. Take call as requested.
