Basic Job Functions:
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies practices procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.
Lead Estimating and Project Coordinating Teams: Oversee daily operations to ensure projects are delivered on time within budget and to high quality standards. Support sales and profitability by directing and supervising overall team activities.
Commercial Excellence: Build strong relationships with customers and internal departments. Travel to sales meetings customer offices and jobsites as needed. Promote open communication teamwork and a productive work environment across the division.
Team Development and Mentoring: Support teammate growth through training mentoring and performance evaluations. Provide recommendations for compensation adjustments.
Policy and Risk Oversight: Develop and maintain policies and procedures that reinforce Quality and Safety standards. Partner with the Engineering Manager to manage commercial risk litigation matters and warranty programs.
Budget and Staffing Management: Oversee staffing plans supply and equipment budgets and wage planning to ensure fairness and team motivation.
Value Rack System Estimation: Lead the Estimating Team in delivering complete accurate and timely cost estimates and proposals. Collaborate with Sales and Engineering to develop safe cost-effective solutions. Evaluate structural decisions fabrication impacts and total installed costs. Review unique scope quotes for business risk product application and optimal value.
Recruitment and Hiring: Partner with HR to execute recruiting strategies conduct interviews and make informed hiring decisions that strengthen the team.
Strategic Leadership: In collaboration with the Engineering Manager drive training mentoring and performance management initiatives that enhance business acumen problem-solving value engineering sales and customer service capabilities.
Benchmarking and Continuous Improvement: Engage with other divisions to benchmark best practices improve operational performance and enhance customer satisfaction.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associates Degree in Engineering Construction Management or Business or 3 years of steel/product sales or coordination experience.
- Experience leading a team of multiple individuals.
Preferred Qualifications:
- P.E. and/or S.E. Registration
- 2 years of steel racking industry experience
- 2 or more years of professional experience in engineering sales project management or Team leadership
