Job Summary:
The purpose of the Coating Compounder is to be responsible for keeping latex mixed and ready for use. Confer with supervisor for proper mix to make.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Receive chemicals etc. as they are delivered. Ready tanks for filling and sign receiving forms. Unload filler truck.
- Should know how to set scales for different ingredients.
- Measure viscosity at the final of each mix. Add thickener to obtain the correct reading.
- Transfer latex mixing tank to storage and on to coater.
- Confer with supervisor about schedules improper mixtures ingredients etc. Advise need for chemicals.
- Keep all areas clean.
- Assist in cleaning of tanks when necessary.
- Know the principles of the mixing panel and how to operate to give proper mixture.
- Gauge each storage tank when necessary for inventory.
Performance Expectations (if applicable):
- Lifting is required of buckets weighing approximately 40 lbs twice per shift.
- Standing is required 1/3 of shift.
- Reaching is required for wrenches valves blender controls etc. approximately 60 times per shift.
- Stooping is required approximately 15 times per shift for intervals of 1 minute.
- Bending is required to turn valves check tanks and pumps approximately 15 times per shift.
- Must be able to use hand trucks approximately 5 times per shift.
- Must be able to use wrenches approximately 25 times per shift.
Experience/Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must be able to read and write and do basic addition subtraction division and multiplication.
- Computer knowledge or data entry skills are a necessary part of the job.
- Must be able to operate a lift truck and complete necessary lift truck training.
Other Requirements:
- Overtime is required on occasion.
- All accidents must be reported immediately.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- Safety equipment must be worn as required and requirements must be followed for all areas.
- Report to management any quality safety or potential problems encountered while performing the job.
- Responsible for quality and safety of his/her own output.
