Job Summary

GENERAL OVERVIEW

The Memory Care Nurse Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the general well-being of the memory care residents through the delivery of high-quality services that complies with applicable state and federal laws and regulations. Responsible for delivery of all nursing services to the residents of the Memory Care Residents in conjunction with Assisted Living Nurse Manager.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Mission Values and Vision of LifeSpire of Virginia.
  • Assist Nurse Manager with ensuring delivery of nursing services to all residents according to professionally recognized nursing practices. Directly responsible for coordination of physician services within the memory care neighborhood.
  • Implement and monitor for positive resident and staff relations among nursing staff.
  • Assist Nurse Manager in monitoring for effective communication about resident care; ensure proper utilization of resident care plans by all appropriate nursing staff; monitor for effective communication within and between nursing shifts; maintain and protect the confidentiality of resident information at all times.
  • Assist Nurse Manager to develop and implement nursing systems that ensure consistent delivery of quality resident care and services; identify trends in resident care and develop plans for corrective action as needed.
  • Develop and maintain ISPs UAIs Fall and Risk assessments for all memory care residents. Lead monthly care meetings with families and interdisciplinary team.
  • Develop effective staffing and scheduling patterns to maintain continuity of resident care on all shifts and to ensure that the total nursing needs of the memory care residents.
  • Assist Nurse Manager with implementation of federal/state regulations regarding nursing services and Policies and Procedures.
  • Coordinate new resident admissions and level of care transfers as needed.
  • Assist Administrator in development and/or revision of nursing policies and procedures.
  • Establish effective working relationships with all departments.
  • Commit to maintaining professional competence through participation in continuing education.
  • Follows all personnel policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook and subsequent publications and notices (including policies on breaks meal periods and PAL time).

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Maintain a current license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse from the Board of Nursing of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Two years of gerontological nursing experience.
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to provide nursing services to the elderly.
  • Ability to effectively supervise a diverse employee work group.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • High degree of interpersonal relations skills and capability of effectively relating to a variety of people and personalities. Ability to maintain a positive constructive attitude among staff and between departments.
