Starting Pay: $17.00 per hour plus additional shift differential for evenings nights and weekends.

Priority consideration will be provided to internal applicants first. Applicants with previous agricultural or production experience will be considered preferred. Applicants must reside in the United States to be considered for an interview.

Requirements: Must have at least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no additional job gaps in employment greater than 6 months in the past 36 months. If applicant has been laid off or providing child or elder care the employment gap will be increased to 18 months. Previous work history will not apply to applicants who have been full time students consecutively for the last 36 months.

Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days.

Rehire Rule of no more than 3 times worked at Cobb/Tyson Foods.

Hours:7:00am to3:00pm

Work schedule is subject to change based upon production needs.

Position Summary:

  • Attend to and care for birds ingrowouthouses; inspect birds todeterminequality and progress by performing the below duties. Other duties may be assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Feeds and waters birds according to schedules; walks floors daily to inspect water lines pick up and dispose of mortality and examine birds for signs of a week or sick bird (25%)

  • Pull trailer via farm truck to feed conversion houses to load birds ready for grow houses; transfer birds from trailer togrowouthouse via 3 x 3 door from outside Team Member to inside Team Member and place inappropriate pens(25%)

  • Perform simple math as part of calculating pen size based on bird numbers to be received and adjust to provide adequate feeder water and space for birds; place pen partitions according to calculations; manage floor by turning/addingshavingsand checking ventilation (15%)

  • Sorting birds by breast size (fleshing);assistfarm crew withkillvac; collecting weekly samples for corporate lab of cleft pallet swabs feed and shavings samples (25%)


Other duties responsibilities and activities:

  • These may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice such as:inspects birds to determine quality and progress by weighing birds weekly; maintenance and sanitation of breakroom boot rooms equipment and vehicles; vaccinate and isolate birds to affect disease control program; administer medications to birds as needed such as vitaminsetc; properly euthanize weak/ill birds in accordance with company policy (10%)

  • Biosecurity/Animal Welfare Requirements:

  • Thejobsiteis abiosecureenvironment which requires showering changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility.Appropriate clothing and footwearisprovided by the Company.No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry and body piercings covered by appropriate clothing.Must be willing to sign an agreement to not own and to avoid any avian species (chickens ducks birds etc.). Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.

  • Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Physical: Mustuse safe lifting techniques.Mustregularlylift and/or move up to50 poundsitems such as bags of shavings feed buckets bags of mortalityetc; tools such as pallet jack may betooccasionallylift and/or move up to2000 poundssuch as shavings etc. While performing the duties of this job the employee isregularlyrequired to stand majority of shift on multiple floor surfaces (i.e. concrete floor shavings); walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel objects and controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; climbing/ladder usage; stoop/bend up to300times per day; talk or hear; drive a vehicle within the farm complex. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus. Must havegood communicationskills to accurately convey opinions and concerns.

  • Tools and Equipment: electronic and dial scales calculator vehicle trailer pressure washer

  • Environment: Requiredto work on wet slippery surfacesand alsowork in hot dry extreme dusty dark wet icysnowyand cold environments.

  • Personal Protective Equipment Required: Safetygoggles safety glasses face shield chemical gloves waterproof apron headlamps and rubber boots are required.Ear plugs will be used as required.NIOSH approved N95 particulate respirators will be worn as needed.

  • Chemicals Commonly Used: Disinfectantssuch as SynergizeVirocid Lysol Clorox wipes bleach etc.

  • Safety: TM is expected to follow all applicable safety policies and procedures. These include but are not limited to Hazard Communication Respiratory Protection LOTO and Personal Protective Equipment. TM is expected toidentifyaddressand mitigate safety related risks.
