Overview:
The Assembly & Test Technician role is responsible for the hands-on assembly and testing of aerospace components and subsystems in Amcas R&D shop. You will work directly alongside engineers to build and validate new hardware on its path to flight qualification spanning a wide variety of products and processes. We are looking for someone with sharp hands-on technical instincts a high standard for workmanship and adaptability to thrive in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
Assemble aerospace components and subsystems from engineering drawings work orders and specifications
Operate test equipment to validate and characterize hardware under development
Work closely with engineering throughout build and test communicating clearly and responding to feedback quickly
Read and interpret mechanical drawings schematics and tolerances including GD&T
Document assembly and test results accurately to support engineering iteration
Identify and communicate defects or anomalies to engineering promptly
Adapt to new products processes and test setups with a problem-solving mindset
Strong attention to detail and able to stay organized
Able to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision
Positive attitude reliable and works well on a team
Basic Qualifications:
2 years of hands-on experience in assembly or testing within an aerospace defense or precision manufacturing environment
Able to read and work from engineering drawings work instructions and technical specifications
Skilled with mechanical hand tools
Must be a U.S. person as defined by ITAR
Preferred Skills and Experience:
5 years of hands-on experience in assembly or testing within an aerospace defense or precision manufacturing environment
Experience operating programming or setting up automated or semi-automated test equipment
Experience building and testing avionics electromechanical hydraulic pneumatic or power electronics components
Experience operating plastic injection molding equipment is a bonus
Familiarity with data acquisition systems
Additional Requirements:
Must be able to travel as needed in response to business needs with short notice
Must be able to work extended hours including weekends as needed to meet business needs
This position in based in El Segundo CA and requires being on-site
