Their East Sussex site plays a key role in developing complex electronics-based products within a collaborative and innovation-driven environment.The Lead Software Engineer Role in East SussexWe are seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer to architect and lead software development across a range of embedded systems. You will guide a small team drive best practices and ensure delivery of high-quality production-ready software.This is a hands-on leadership role covering the full software lifecycle from requirements through to validation and release within a structured compliance-driven environment.Key Responsibilities- Architect and develop scalable reliable embedded software solutions
- Lead mentor and support a small team of engineers
- Act as SCRUM Master or technical lead within Agile environments
- Drive best practice across development testing and code reviews
- Maintain and improve regression testing and validation processes
- Collaborate with product engineering and manufacturing teams
- Ensure clear requirements delivery milestones and completion criteria
- Oversee software releases in line with quality and compliance standards
- Drive continuous improvement across development processes
Key Skills- Embedded software development (C or C)
- Microcontrollers and processors (e.g. ARM PIC)
- Software architecture and system design
- Electronics or manufacturing environment experience
- Testing validation and automation frameworks
- Agile and Waterfall methodologies (SCRUM experience preferred)
- Regulated or compliance-driven industry experience
- Leadership or mentoring experience
- Strong communication and stakeholder management
