3 Month Contract With A Local Authority
Job Purpose:
The Turnaround Practitioner works with children referred to the Youth Justice Service (YJS) delivering tailored interventions and support plans aimed at promoting positive change reducing risk and enhancing the safety of the child and others. The role involves assessing needs implementing interventions and coordinating with multi-agency partners to ensure a holistic approach to each childs development and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of children referred to YJS to identify risks needs and protective factors
- Develop implement and monitor individualized support plans designed to encourage positive behavior and reduce reoffending.
- Review progress regularly and adjust plans as needed.
- Provide direct support and evidence-based interventions to children to address behavioral social and emotional challenges
- Work closely with social services education health services law enforcement and other relevant agencies to ensure coordinated support
- Promote the safety and wellbeing of children identifying and responding to risks promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of assessments plans interventions and outcomes.
- Provide reports and recommendations to supervisors and multi-agency teams.
- Participate in ongoing training and supervision to maintain best practices in youth justice and safeguarding.
Requirements:
Relevant qualification in Social Work Youth Work Psychology or a related field.
Experience working with children particularly in challenging or high-risk contexts.
Knowledge of safeguarding practices and youth justice systems.
Strong communication interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-agency team.
Empathy resilience and commitment to improving outcomes for children.
