Summary
- The Benefit Assessment Officer is tasked with ensuring the prompt accurate and compliant assessment of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support claims. This role involves processing new claims managing changes in circumstances handling overpayments and performing related administrative tasks in line with current regulations and internal procedures. The officer also provides frontline support to customers and collaborates with internal teams and external partners to deliver a high-quality customer-focused service.
Responsibilities
- Verify evidence conduct pre-assessment checks and request additional information as needed.
- Complete full determination of benefit entitlement in accordance with relevant legislation and internal procedures.
- Determine and correctly classify overpayments applying the correct subsidy coding.
- Process assessments using the Academy Benefits system and IDOX workflow/document management platforms.

- Working hours: 36 hours per week
- Location: High Street Esher Surrey KT10 9SD United Kingdom
- Work pattern: Hybrid working - 2 days in the office 3 days at home (after a minimum of 2 weeks training in the office)
- Payment schedule: Bi-weekly
- Application deadline: 20th March 2026 apply ASAP.
