This is a 12-month tenure-track position located at Tarletons Fort Worth campus in Fort Worth Texas. Work hours: Mon-Fri; 8 AM-5 PM or as work and teaching requirements indicate. May be assigned to teach at various campus locations or through approved instructional modalities as determined by the institution based on operational needs. Serves as a Campus Security Authority (CSA).
In addition the successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate excellence and innovation in teaching maintain an impactful research program mentor undergraduate and graduate students and participate in the necessary operation of the institution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
40% Administrative:
The Director of Clinical Education will independently develop lead and manage all aspects of the clinical education process to meet Council on Academic Accreditation and ASHA certification standards.
Contact new clinical placement sites for the Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology program complete Tarleton State University affiliation agreements complete electronic documentation for each new and existing clinical site and maintain clinical site documentation to ensure currency.
Maintain communication and organize educational and introductory events for clinical site supervisors.
Manage and analyze student and supervisor data in the electronic clinical education management system.
Collect student information about clinical site placements communicate with clinical sites about their capacity to take students and assign/plan for student clinical placements each semester.
Collaborate and communicate with the MS SLP Program Director to resolve problems related to the clinical placement site and/or practicum student.
Manage and track student hours and acquisition of competencies in the clinical education electronic system.
40% Teaching and Service:
Accepts accountability for creating and facilitating effective teaching through oncampus clinical simulation activities and experiences. These simulation activities may include hightechnology applications interprofessional collaborative learning disciplinespecific diagnostic and therapeutic techniques and structured opportunities that promote the development of skills supporting effective interaction communication and service with all students and campus stakeholders. Simulation experiences will be appropriate for observing undergraduate students beginning MSSLP students and advanced graduate students
Prepares and updates content and syllabi for assigned courses according to the MS-SLP program curricular plans ASHA/CAA competency updates and program outcomes.
Demonstrates expertise in developing conducting and evaluating essential learning experiences within simulated and real-life clinical settings.
Conducts course assessment activities to evaluate and enhance student learning.
Makes recommendations for resource acquisitions.
Assess student performance provide timely feedback and evaluate student learning outcomes to inform teaching practices and curriculum improvements.
Provide academic support and guidance to students through office hours.
Adhere to university policies academic integrity standards and accreditation requirements related to teaching responsibilities.
Engage in ongoing professional development activities to stay current in the field improve teaching skills and explore new instructional strategies.
Collaborate with colleagues departmental faculty and university staff to coordinate course offering share resources and contribute to program development and improvement.
Participate in institutional service roles including but not limited to college committees advisory committees student/faculty recruitment and mentoring of new and part-time faculty.
20% Research Scholarship and Creative Activity:
Maintain an active agenda for research scholarship or creative activity appropriate to the applicants academic discipline.
Make original contributions to the advancement of knowledge/creative expression in the applicants discipline through scholarly publication presentation or exhibition.
Demonstrate potential for external funding national impact or professional recognition.
Minimum Requirements
Required Education:
Earned PhD SLPD EdD degree in speech-language pathology communication sciences and disorders speech-language-hearing sciences or related discipline from an accredited university by August 2026.
Required Experience:
Record of at least 5 years of clinical experience as a speech-language pathologist; including relevant professional experience including work with pediatric and/or adult populations.
Required Certifications:
Certificate of Clinical Competence through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association in the area of speech-language pathology.
Required Eligibility:
Eligible for Texas licensure to practice as a speech-language pathologist in medical and/or educational settings.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English sufficient to conduct administrative teaching service and research activities.
Knowledge and understanding of disciplinary subject matter at a level adequate for graduate-level instruction.
Ability to interact with students staff faculty and the community in a professional collegial and collaborative manner.

Rank will bedeterminedby reviewing the faculty members record of years of experience and professional achievements in teaching service and research consistent with the Texas A&Msystemguidance.
