The research associate specializing in private markets data research is a key member of a global research team responsible for building and maintaining several online intelligence and data services focused on private markets investing.
This research associate will contribute to the collection validation and structuring of large datasets related to private markets investments companies and market activity. The role involves working closely with internal research data and analytics teams to ensure the accuracy completeness and consistency of the organizations proprietary datasets.
With a focus on private markets including private equity infrastructure and real assets the research associate will primarily undertake the following responsibilities.
Research
- Collect and structure data from primary and secondary sources to support the development and maintenance of proprietary private markets datasets.
- Monitor public disclosures regulatory filings financial reports company announcements and industry news to identify relevant data points and market developments.
- Assist in compiling and validating datasets relating to private companies transactions investors and other private markets activities.
- Work with internal teams to ensure data quality through verification cross-checking and application of standardized data methodologies.
- Support research initiatives aimed at expanding the breadth and depth of the organizations global private markets datasets.
- Contribute to ongoing efforts to improve data coverage consistency and timeliness across the global research platform.
Data & Analysis
- Maintain and update structured datasets using internal data systems and tools.
- Perform data validation and quality checks to ensure high levels of accuracy and consistency.
- Assist with data preparation for analytical outputs including research reports market analysis and presentations.
- Develop familiarity with the organizations data frameworks and methodologies for private markets.
- Support the research team in interpreting and organizing complex datasets for internal and external use.
Key relationships
- The research associate will collaborate closely with fellow research associates within the local office and proactively build working relationships with colleagues across regional and global offices.
- The research associate will also work with colleagues in research analytics editorial sales events and marketing teams to support the broader research and data initiatives of the organization.
- Interaction with external market participants may occur where appropriate to clarify or validate data points.
The balance of the above tasks along with other duties will vary.
The role demands strong organizational skills excellent written and verbal communication and an analytical mindset. A high level of attention to detail is essential to ensure accuracy and maintain the quality of our datasets. Experience/knowledge required
This position is ideal for individuals with well-honed written and research abilities a high degree of self-motivation strong verbal communication skills and a grasp of industry dynamics to engage in informed discussions with industry stakeholders. While prior experience in a research role is beneficial its not a strict requirement.
The successful candidate should possess excellent proficiency in both spoken and written English and hold a degree. A solid understanding of and interest in financial services is a significant plus.
