Role description:

We are actively seeking an Associate Technical Director to join our Water & Utilities MEICA this role youll play a pivotal role in establishing and consolidating relationships across Arcadis and our client base managing the technical delivery and design outputs of some of the UKs most complex and stimulating projects in the Water sector.

The role would sit within our Resilience Global Business Area where we work to protect our natural environment and water resources while powering our world for future generations. Around the world were feeling the effects climate change rapid urbanization loss of biodiversity. The rate at which were seeing large-scale unforeseen events such as floods and wildfires is becoming more frequent. We are here to protect our natural environment and water resources while powering our world for future generations.

Role accountabilities:

  • Ability to work independently and as a team member carrying out production and checking complex mechanical detailed designs including calculations specifications reports and drawings.
  • Supporting and / or Leading design and advisory services relating to new and existing water and wastewater process plants pumping stations and ancillary assets.
  • Technical delivery of multi-disciplinary projects in a Design or Technical Lead capacity where assigned using latest digital design techniques.
  • Identify and develop innovative and optimised technical solutions based on client needs and drivers.
  • Lead and co-ordinate work with multi-disciplinary teams (e.g. process civil structural mechanical electrical and ICA)
  • Establish and grow relationships with clients and partners on project technical commercial and progress matters.
  • Ensuring projects meet required technical legislative quality safety and environmental standards and objectives.
  • Line management mentoring and performance development responsibility for assigned staff.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other directly related degree.
  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status and membership of a professional institution such as IMechE IET or CIWEM
  • Significant experience in technical delivery of process plant systems on complex water industry engineering projects
  • Experience of working on design and construct projects using digital design
  • Team leader with collaborative behaviours
  • Desired: Water and/or wastewater experience
