Title: Machinist

Pay: $22 - $40hr (based on experience)

Reporting: Position Reports to General Manager

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will operate maintain and troubleshoot a range of machining equipment to produce high-quality parts and components according to specifications. This role requires precision technical knowledge and a commitment to safety. As a Machinist you will work closely with engineering. operations and quality assurance teams to ensure that all parts meet the highest standards.

Expectations:

Set up and Operate Equipment: Operate lathes milling machines grinders and other machinery to manufacture precision parts.
Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret engineering blueprints technical drawings and specifications to understand the dimensions and tolerances of the workpieces.
Quality Control: Inspect and measure finished products using precision tools (micrometers calipers gauges) to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.
Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on machines and troubleshoot mechanical issues to ensure efficient operations.
Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and wear protective gear to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Collaboration: Work closely with other machinists engineers and team members to refine designs and improve production processes.
Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of machining operations materials used and any adjustments made to the machines.
Work collaboratively within an engineering team of mechanical electrical and firmware engineers to design new products and upkeep existing product lines.
Clearly communicate and collaborate with various members of the purchasing team to assist in sourcing manufacturing components.
Other duties as required.

Required Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training in machining or related field preferred.
Experience: 2 years of experience as a Machinist preferably with CNC equipment.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in operating various types of machinery including manual and CNC machines.
- Skilled in using measuring tools such as calipers micrometers and gauges.
- Knowledge of G-code and CAD/CAM software is a plus.
Attention to Detail: Ability to produce work that meets precise specifications and standards.
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and adjust machinery as needed to ensure high-quality output.
Physical Stamina: Capable of standing for long periods lifting heavy materials and working in a workshop environment.
