Job Summary
About the Role
As a Data Engineer within our Data Platforms team you will build and maintain scalable high quality data solutions that enable better decision making across Sportsbet. You will work closely with business and technology teams to design deliver and optimise data platforms that are reliable efficient and future focused.
This is a hands on role where you will contribute across solution design development automation and platform operations with a strong focus on continuous improvement and modern engineering practices.
Responsibilities
Delivery and Engineering
- Analyse and challenge business requirements.
- Contribute to solution design and technical standards.
- Build high quality performant data pipelines and services.
- Take ownership of delivery outcomes estimates and quality.
- Continuously improve platforms performance and cost efficiency.
- Automate processes and promote best practice engineering patterns.
Platform Operations
- Own and resolve production issues end to end.
- Monitor performance identify risks and tune platforms as required.
- Perform maintenance activities including upgrades access reviews and DR testing.
- Identify opportunities to improve stability and automation.

What You Will Bring
Technical
- Strong experience with AWS data services such as S3 Glue EMR Lambda Athena and MSK.
- Advanced SQL across relational and NoSQL systems.
- 3 years experience with Python Spark or PySpark.
- 2 years experience with Databricks.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment practices.
- Exposure to Data Vault Delta Lake streaming or serverless architectures is beneficial.
