Job Summary

Arlington Public Schools seeks a teacher of French at Arlington High School startingAugust 31 2026.

Candidates should have advanced oral proficiency inFrench and demonstrated oral and written communication skills in English. Candidates should have knowledge of effective world languages pedagogy with an emphasis on oral proficiency; ability to use a variety of materials and modes of instruction including effective use of technology; ability to incorporate authentic resources with novice students; and effective techniques for classroom management. The position requires the ability to work effectively with students parents and community members and to collaborate professionally with colleagues within and beyond the World Languages Department. Keen organizational skills are essential.

Valid Massachusetts DESE teaching licensure Foreign Language French Grades 5-12 is required.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 183 Days

REPORTS TO:Director of World Languages and BuildingAdministrator

Arlington has a well established new teacher induction program with mentoring throughout the school year.

Salary and Benefits are consistent with theCollective Bargaining Agreement between the Arlington School Committee and the Arlington Education Association.
