The Hebrew Language program in the Department of Near Eastern and Judaic Studies at Brandeis University is seeking an instructor for the fall 2026 semester to teach HBRW 10a Beginning Hebrew and HBRW 19a Beginning Hebrew: Honors with the possibility of teaching an additional section of HBRW 10a Beginning Hebrew in the spring 2027 semester.
Requirements: MA Degree and fluency in Modern Hebrew language
Candidates with at least a Masters degree in Hebrew language literature or culture or with a specialty in second-language acquisition in Hebrew as well as experience teaching Hebrew language courses at the university level and a native or near-native level of spoken and written proficiency in Hebrew will be given preference. Interested individuals should submit a cover letter CV a draft course syllabus and names and contact information for two references.
This appointment is to a position that is in a collective bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local 509.
The compensation for this position is $8764.20/course.
