Job Summary
Overview
A well-established sports and entertainment company based in Wellington FL is seeking an Accounting Manager to join its growing team. This role will report directly to the Controller and CFO and will play a key role in overseeing the companys day-to-day accounting operations while ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
The Accounting Manager will supervise a Senior Accountant and Staff Accountant and will be responsible for maintaining the month-end close process and ensuring compliance with GAAP with a particular emphasis on accrual-based accounting.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the full-cycle accounting process including general ledger journal entries reconciliations and month-end close
- Ensure financial statements are prepared accurately and in accordance with GAAP and accrual accounting standards
- Supervise mentor and review the work of a Senior Accountant and Staff Accountant
- Review balance sheet reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies
- Assist the Controller and CFO with financial reporting budgeting and forecasting
- Coordinate with external auditors and assist with the annual audit process
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to support operational decision-making
- Assist with process improvements system enhancements and automation initiatives within the accounting function
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting
- 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience including supervisory responsibilities
- Strong experience with accrual-based accounting and GAAP
- Highly technical accounting knowledge and strong analytical abilities
- Experience managing the month-end close process and financial statement preparation
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop staff
- Experience with ERP systems and AI tools
