Description of Work
The Division of Engineering Construction and Maintenance (DECM) is recruiting for an energized and collaborative Regional Maintenance Technician I to be a part of the Mountain Regional Maintenance Team. This position will learn the skills to perform general preventative maintenance and like-in-kind Force Account system replacements.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
This position requires the daily commute to DECM Mountain Regional Maintenance Yard in Lenoir NC. The work schedule is Monday Friday and may require some weekend work and overnight travel to meet the demands of the organization.

The Division of Engineering Construction and Maintenance (DECM) coordinates all North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections (NCDAC) construction and renovation efforts working closely with the State Construction Office to bring projects to life. We represent the department on key property and building matters while keeping facilities running smoothly through expert support for mechanical electrical kitchen and other essential systems. With a dedicated team specializing in design project management and sustainability DECM helps ensure our facilities stay safe efficient and ready to serve.

Necessary Special Qualification
May require current certification by the Environmental Protection Agency as a Type I II III or Universal technician as required by Title 40 Code of Federal Regulations Part 82 Subpart F.
