Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Debt Collector to join our team at Msuez UK. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in debt collection and a proven track record of success in recovering outstanding debts. Key Responsibilities: - Contacting debtors via phone email and mail to collect outstanding debts - Negotiating payment plans and settlements with debtors - Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all debt collection activities - Working closely with clients to understand their specific debt collection needs and develop effective strategies for debt recovery - Conducting thorough investigations to locate debtors and their assets - Preparing legal documents and working with attorneys when necessary - Keeping up-to-date with relevant laws and regulations related to debt collection - Providing regular reports to management on debt collection activities and results - Building and maintaining positive relationships with clients and debtors - Assisting with other administrative tasks as needed Qualifications and Skills: - High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in business finance or related field preferred - Minimum of 2 years of experience in debt collection preferably in a professional services or financial services setting - Strong negotiation and communication skills both written and verbal - Excellent time management and organizational skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software - Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to debt collection - Bilingual in English and another language is a plus Working Conditions: This is a full-time permanent position based in our office in Johannesburg South Africa. The working hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. Occasional overtime may be required. The salary and benefits package will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
