The Opportunity

We are seeking a Structural Project Engineer to lead our Bridge Inspection operations in Central New York. This is a high-visibility role where you will manage the lifecycle of complex field evaluations and high-level structural analysis.
Core Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Orchestrate field inspection teams coordinating both personnel and specialized equipment to evaluate critical infrastructure.
- Technical Mastery: Perform field measurements document findings and draft comprehensive technical inspection reports in accordance with NYSDOT specifications.
- Engineering Analysis: Execute load rating calculations and structural ratings; develop construction documents for interim repairs (Flagged conditions).
- Project Oversight: Manage the transition from field data to in-office support ensuring all safety and quality standards are met per state requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Licensure: Current New York State Professional Engineer (PE) license (or the ability to obtain via comity within 30 days of hire).
- Certifications: Satisfactory completion of FHWA/NHI Course #130055 (2-week) or #130056 (1-week PE course) or current NYSDOT Bridge Inspection Certification.
- Experience: 3 years of bridge-specific experience involving design construction or inspection.
- Field Readiness: Ability to work extensively in the field including bending kneeling and lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs.
- Mobility: Active valid drivers license is required for site visits and team coordination.
