Gas Turbine Engineering (GTE) team is looking for a Senior Engineering Manager with strong technical and people leadership skills to drive SQDC lean and continuous improvements across design modules and sciences organization to support product process and technology development for NTI NPI and RCA this role the selected candidate will lead a team of design engineers control title holders and subject matter of experts in Bangalore towards execution of design & development programs. This is an exciting opportunity that blends engineering industrialization testing & field support aspects to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and drive value across NPI NTI & RCAs through innovation and delivery of world-class products and services for our customers while developing next generation of talents for GTE organization.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership fostering a culture of collaboration innovation and continuous improvement setting clear expectations for the team and ensuring effective communication within the GTE functions to drive One Team mindset and accountability.
  • Define and maintain high level of rigor on safety and quality across every effort with daily management through lean tools and process improvements.
  • Develop maintain and deliver GTE resource capability and capacity roadmap aligned with various types of design programs upcoming for gas power engineering and external customer needs.
  • Deliver & execute GTE vision & missions towards building decarbonization Industrialization best life cycle capabilities of the product aligned with GPE expectations or external customers needs.
  • Identify develop evaluate and introduce engineering solutions to meet near term and long-range needs regarding the advancement of gas turbine performance quality and cost.
  • Maintain On Time Delivery (OTD) and First Pass Yields (FPY) key performance indicators at or above target in all design and development programs.
  • Support the development of GTE technical methods and training programs designed to improve the quality and productivity of the organization.
  • Monitor & identify safety and quality risks/opportunities and engage LEAN & AI experts to drive speed action and resolutions.
  • Responsible for position GTE teams to solve customer field manufacturing supplier and repair shop issues on timely basis to achieve higher say-do or NPS with stakeholders in the region and in global locations.
  • Support the development and drive the implementation of the latest safety QMS and operating guidelines across every team.
  • Align with global GTE leaders and rest of GPE strategies priorities and lean initiatives and drive implementation in every site and labs.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in engineering discipline from accredited university
  • 10 years experience in engineering power generation design/services or testing.
  • Proven experienceas an engineering leader with a track record of successfully managing and scaling engineering teams. Minimum 5 years of team management experience
  • Strong test article development & instrumentation experience of gas turbine or turbomachinery components.
  • Strong leadership behaviors and ability to interface effectively with all levels of a global organization and external customers
  • Excellentleadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.
  • Ability to document plan market and execute programs. Established project management skills.
  • MS or Ph.D. engineering degree in Mechanical or Energy or Thermal or Materials Engineering/Technology
  • Familiarity with project management tools and lifecycle management
  • Consistently demonstrates rig design & testing creativity and problem-solving capabilities
  • Displays strong interpersonal influencing collaborative mentoring and leadership skills
  • Demonstrates ability to lead programs / projects. Ability to document plan market and execute programs.
  • Should be a change agent. Early creator or adaptor of technology by following industry trends
  • Anticipates internal and external customer needs and ensures that they are met. Measures processes and performance through the customers eye.
