Reporting to the Sr Manager Nitrogen East Site Accounting the Sr Supervisor Site Accounting will lead the team that is responsible for providing financial and operations accounting expertise to support plant accounting functions.

What Youll Do:

Provide leadership to the accounting team and be the subject matter expert on site accounting matters
Day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department with major emphasis on completion of month end procedures including closing of sub-modules preparation of journal entries review of the general and subsidiary ledgers analyzing financials and communicating the results to management and various stakeholders
Participate in policy alignment initiatives and implementation
Participate and lead automation standardization and process improvement projects spanning across multiple sites
Verify the proper accumulation of product flows through our production areas and verification of month end accumulations and reporting (OPM)
Raw material and finished product cost accounting
Understand identify and implement required internal controls including certification reporting audit responses and SOX controls
Management of the physical asset verification process
Ensuring balance sheet accounts are effectively analyzed and managed
Oversight of capital project and asset accounting including; assisting with project setup asset verifications and property tax reporting
Act as a liaison with other departments to assist with financial analysis and communications on accounting policy and procedures
Apply effective people leadership skills leading a team through performance management and career development
Provides support & feedback to team members including communicating team goals and identifying areas for new training or skill checks

What Youll Bring:

An undergraduate degree and a recognized professional accounting designation with a minimum of 6 years of related experience
2 or more years of supervisory experience is preferred
Strong working knowledge of Oracle HANA and Microsoft Excel (lookups pivot tables etc.)
Experience in a plant environment is preferred
Strong working knowledge of Accounting/financial concepts and principles GAAP/IFRS applications in a business environment and Management accounting principles
A willingness to embrace change and have a process improvement mindset
Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
Superior problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to communicate to a wide variety of stakeholders
Ability to prioritize and manage numerous tasks projects stakeholder interests and deadlines
