We are seeking an experienced Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to support construction maintenance and turnaround activities within oil gas and chemical facilities. The CWI will ensure all welding activities comply with applicable codes specifications client requirements and safety standards. Other duties may be assigned.
Responsibilities
- Perform visual inspection of welds in accordance with AWS ASME API and client specifications
- Verify WPS PQR and welder qualifications (WPQ)
- Monitor welding activities for compliance with approved procedures
- Review and interpret drawings isometrics and welding symbols
- Document inspection results and prepare daily reports NCRs and punch lists
- Coordinate with contractors engineers and client representatives
- Witness and verify NDE activities (RT UT MT PT)
- Ensure adherence to site safety and regulatory requirements
- Support audits client inspections and quality surveillance
Required Qualifications
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) current
- Minimum 5 years welding inspection experience in oil gas or chemical facilities
- Working knowledge of AWS D1.1 ASME Section IX ASME B31.3/B31.1 API 1104
- Experience with carbon steel stainless steel and alloy materials
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Strong communication and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional certifications (API 510 API 570 API 653 or NACE)
- Turnaround and brownfield project experience
- Refinery and chemical plant owner/user experience
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to work in industrial environments including refineries and chemical plants
- Ability to climb ladders scaffolding and work at heights
- Willingness to work extended hours nights weekends and shutdowns
- Must pass safety training drug screening and background checks
Experience: Minimum 35 years of relevant industry experience in refining petrochemical chemical or similar industrial settings.
Certification / License: A valid Drivers License and a TWIC Card.
