The most vulnerable and food insecure people live in fragile resource-scarce and degraded environments in areas that are prone to climate disasters and exposed to frequent shocks. WFPs Food Assistance for Training (FFT) programmes address immediate food needs through cash voucher or food transfers while at the same time provide vulnerable people with technical vocational trainings (TVT) and context-relevant income generation opportunities (through wage- or self-employment).
The human capital development opportunity (the TVT) is complemented with interventions to strengthen the social physical and financial capital of the participants. People are supported through active labor market measures such as market linkages creation training on the job financial inclusion activities entrepreneurship promotion etc.
In the last years these programmes have helped millions of people across more than 20 countries in diversifying their livelihood prospects and therefore strengthening their food security and economic self-reliance.
The programme targets specifically people who are unable to access a productive land often displaced communities women youth and people living in urban and peri-urban settings.

WORKING LANGUAGES
Excellent written and spoken English is required (proficiency/level C).
Proficiency in Arabic French and Spanish are desirable but not required.
SUPERVISION (Level/Methods of Supervision)
Under the direct supervision of the Programme Policy Officer on Skill for Livelihoods Opportunities in the Asset Creation Livelihoods and Regenerative Practices Unit the incumbent will be provided with close mentoring guidance and technical supervision. Performance planning and reviews as well as learning and development discussions will be elemental part of the supervision.
S/he will work closely with the other team members of the specific Team as well as interact with other members within the Climate and Resilience service. Frequent interactions with other units within the programme division Regional Bureaux (RBx) and Country Offices (COs) are expected.

Throughout their assignment WFP Fellows have access to an industry leading learning platform weLearn. Depending on opportunities and availability of funds he/she may participate in WFP workshops or seminars as appropriate.

This opportunity is particularly well-suited for students or recent graduates seeking practical experience in an international organization. It offers valuable exposure to WFPs operations and the chance to contribute meaningfully to its mission.
The selected candidate will receive IT equipment and training material; however financial compensation and medical coverage are not provided by WFP. Applicants may seek alternative funding opportunities such as university grants or external scholarships to support their assignment.
