BRIEF BACKGROUND

Hitachi Payment Services is a leading payment solutions provider in the country enabling its customers to grow by offering technology-led cash & digital payment solutions while building a robust payment infrastructure in the country driving financial empowerment and enabling social change. We cater to customers such as banks payment aggregators and fintech players who are ready to capture the emerging opportunities in this payments segment.

PURPOSE OF JOB

We are seeking an experienced Senior POS Certification & Integration Engineer with 5 to 10 years of expertise in the payment domain. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of POS terminal certification transaction message formats (ISO8583) EMV standards and experience working on banking switch integrations. This role involves onboarding banks implementing projects in live environments and working on scheme mandates from VISA Mastercard Amex and RuPay.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform certification and end-to-end functional testing of POS terminals.
• Analyze and troubleshoot ISO8583 messages and support various transaction types.
• Validate EMV tag structures and their behavior during chip-based transactions.
• Work on Linux-based systems and integrate with payment switches (e.g. BASE24 FSS FIS or equivalent).
• Develop and execute complex SQL queries for data validation and report generation.
• Manage and execute complete software testing life cycle (STLC) for POS systems.
• Handle end-to-end transaction flow analysis across acquiring and issuing banks.
• Onboard new banks and clients to the payment switch platform ensuring smooth transaction routing and certification.
• Lead and support project implementations into production post-certification phase.
• Interpret and implement scheme mandates (VISA Mastercard Amex RuPay) and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with internal teams (development operations support) and external stakeholders for successful project delivery.

QUALIFICATION/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

• Strong understanding of ISO8583 protocol and message structures.
• Hands-on experience with POS terminals certification tools and test environments.
• Knowledge of EMV standards and tags.
• Proficient in Linux OS and familiarity with at least one payment switch system.
• Expertise in SQL for database interactions and validations.
• Proven communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Thorough knowledge of testing life cycle certification processes and transaction flows.
• Experience in bank onboarding and live project implementation in production environments.
• Working knowledge of card scheme mandates from VISA Mastercard Amex and RuPay
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field.

• Industry certifications in payments QA or POS technologies are a plus.
• Prior experience in a payment processing organization fintech company or a card network will be preferred
