Job Summary

Position: Payroll Analyst

Assignment:6month assignment

Location: Louisville KY

Schedule Monday - Friday 8-5pm

Pay: $24.30 hourly paid weekly.

Position Overview

The Payroll Tax Analyst is responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of U.S. and Canadian payroll tax filings deposits and reconciliations. This role supports payroll tax compliance across 20 legal entities throughout the United States and Canada and ensures all payroll tax obligations are filed and paid according to regulatory deadlines.

The analyst will work with systems such as Workday HRMS and ADP SmartCompliance while leveraging reporting tools and advanced Excel skills to analyze payroll tax data reconcile liabilities and ensure compliance with federal state local and provincial tax requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and file U.S. and Canadian payroll tax returns deposits and reconciliations.
Manage payroll tax compliance for federal state local and provincial tax liabilities.
Utilize Workday HRMS ADP SmartCompliance reporting tools and Excel to prepare payroll tax filings.
Conduct research and respond to inquiries from tax authorities using government websites and documentation.
Prepare amended payroll tax returns when necessary.
Analyze multi-state payroll tax data and ensure accurate reporting to government agencies.
Monitor and ensure tax filings and payments are completed before published deadlines.
Assist with year-end reporting including W-2 T-4 and RL-1 preparation reconciliation corrections and filings.
Support testing of payroll tax updates and releases within the HRMS system.
Maintain compliance with payroll tax regulations by staying current on guidance from BNA ADP APA CPA and other payroll tax publications.
Communicate with HR business partners payroll teams and tax authorities to resolve compliance issues.
Escalate payroll tax compliance concerns to management as needed.
Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company policies to ensure compliance and minimize risk.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Experience with U.S. payroll tax filings and compliance
Knowledge of multi-state payroll taxes
Experience with Workday ADP SmartCompliance or similar payroll tax systems
Strong Excel and reporting skills
Ability to research payroll tax regulations and resolve tax authority inquiries
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Canadian payroll taxes (Federal and Provincial)
Experience supporting large multi-entity payroll environments
Familiarity with year-end tax reporting (W-2 T-4 RL-1)
Knowledge of payroll tax resources such as BNA APA ADP CPA publications
