Job Summary
Job Title: Psychiatric Social Health Technician (PSHT) / Behavioral Health Technician
Location: New York NY 10016
Contract: One-Time Contract (No Extension)
Schedule
Evening Shift: 3:00 PM 11:30 PM
Night Shift: 11:00 PM 7:30 AM
Work Schedule:
5 Days per Week
37.5 Hours per Week
Compensation
Travelers: $42/hour
Local Candidates: $35/hour
Position Overview
A healthcare facility in New York NY is seeking experienced Psychiatric Social Health Technicians (PSHT) / Behavioral Health Technicians to support an Adult Behavioral Health Unit.
The technician will assist with patient care safety monitoring and therapeutic support for individuals receiving psychiatric services while helping maintain a safe and structured clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct support to patients in a behavioral health setting
Assist clinical staff in maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment
Observe and report changes in patient behavior or condition
Support patient activities and assist with daily care needs
Maintain appropriate documentation and communication with healthcare staff
Follow safety protocols and behavioral health unit procedures
Assist with maintaining order and security within the unit
Required Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of behavioral health experience
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Ability to work effectively in a psychiatric or behavioral health environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
