The Role

The school is looking for a dynamic and innovative Subject Lead of DT who can lead the subject with confidence while maintaining outstanding classroom practice. The successful Subject Lead of DT will play a key role in curriculum development and departmental leadership.

Responsibilities of the Subject Lead of DT include:

• Leading and developing Design & Technology across KS3KS5

• Teaching DT with potential specialisms in Product Design Resistant Materials or Engineering

• Driving curriculum innovation and maintaining high standards of teaching and learning

• Monitoring student progress and implementing strategies to raise attainment

• Supporting and mentoring colleagues within the department

• Managing resources including workshops equipment and materials

• Hold QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification

• Have strong experience teaching DT across KS3KS5

• Demonstrate leadership experience or readiness to lead a subject area

• Have excellent organisational and communication skills

• Be passionate about design innovation and student development
