Position Summary

St. Francis de Sales Cathedral School is seeking a dependable and hardworking Janitorial Staff Member to help maintain a clean safe and welcoming environment for students faculty and visitors. This position plays an important role in supporting the daily operations of the school by ensuring that classrooms restrooms and campus facilities are properly cleaned and maintained.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate reliability attention to detail and the ability to work independently while supporting the mission of Catholic education.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Maintain cleanliness of classrooms hallways restrooms offices and common areas

• Sweep mop vacuum and sanitize floors and surfaces

• Empty trash and recycling and replace liners

• Clean and disinfect restrooms and replenish supplies

• Assist with room setup and breakdown for school events when needed

• Monitor building areas for safety or maintenance concerns and report issues as needed

• Support general upkeep of school facilities and grounds

• Follow all school and diocesan safety procedures

Qualifications

• Previous janitorial or custodial experience preferred

• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting bending standing and walking for extended periods

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently

• Dependable punctual and able to follow instructions

• Ability to work cooperatively with school staff and administration

• Must complete the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux Safe Environment Program.

Work Schedule

• School Year: Full-time approximately 40 hours per week

• Summer Schedule: Approximately 30 hours per week
