Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree

Texas Teaching Certificate

Minimum of three years classroom experience experience as a virtual instructor preferred

Valid Texas Principal Certification or in process preferred

Online Instructor Certification (i.e. Quality Matters) preferred

Knowledge of current trends in virtual instruction and professional development

Demonstrated ability in the research development and delivery of innovative strategies

Strong interpersonal skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Primary Purpose:

The Coordinator for Innovative Pathways Operations will provide the expertise organization and direction to the Innovative Pathways opportunities for students and staff. This position will coordinate with all campuses to support virtual instruction and work closely with the Coordinator for Innovative Pathways Student Support to ensure student success.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Collaborate with the Coordinator of Innovative Pathways Student Support to ensure student and staff success in the virtual environment.
  2. Extend virtual instruction opportunities to students and staff through innovative programming approved by the District.
  3. Maintain the Katy Online Learning Program (KOLA) and other interventions to support students graduation programming.
  4. Assist with hiring and scheduling of adjunct teaching staff for virtual courses.
  5. Organize and ensure accuracy of adjunct teacher pay/stipends with the Director of Innovative Pathways.
  6. Supervise and set goals for Innovative Pathways Specialists in conjunction with the Director of Innovative Pathways and the Assistant Superintendent for School Leadership and Campus Support.
  7. Review student processes and ensure consistent implementation of the Districts Discipline Management Plan and Student Code of Conduct.
  8. Create and help present the professional development coursework for Online Instructor Training.
  9. Research and maintain up-to-date information regarding the implementation of a virtual school program.
  10. Coordinate with the Teaching & Learning and School Leadership Departments related to appropriate software and technology needs for virtual instruction as well as the best methods for delivering virtual coursework to teachers and students.
  11. Coordinate and communicate the testing and deployment of applications with the Technology Department.
  12. Provides leadership for enhancing the visibility enrollment and resources of virtual instruction.
  13. Serve as an ambassador for Innovative Pathways and best practices for virtual instruction with campuses parents and community.
  14. Work collaboratively with other departments.
  15. Oversee processes to ensure students are on target to meet the deadlines for virtual course completion.
  16. Establish and coordinate project timelines for implementation of goals with stakeholders.
  17. Inform supervisor about issues and progress of assigned projects.
  18. Demonstrate initiative to identify job tasks relevant to the project and apply commitment to tasks.
  19. Compile and maintain all reports records and other documents as required.
  20. Comply with policies established by federal and state law State Board of Education rule and local board policy.
  21. Comply with all district and campus routines and regulations.
  22. Perform other such duties as required and/or assigned by the Director of Innovative Pathways.

Equipment Used:

Personal computer printer copier and instructional technology tools identified for assigned virtual instruction.

Working Conditions:

Ability to maintain a positive attitude under the stress of frequent interruptions multiple tasks deadlines and technical problems/delays.
Travel within district.
Occasional changes in working hours for professional development and other events.
Occasional standing stooping bending kneeling pushing and pulling; prolonged use of computer and repetitive hand motions.
Occasional lifting over ten pounds.
