Job Summary

Required Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED AND:

  • 42 months experience of which a minimum of 30 months in a clinical environment and 12 months experience in a customer service role.

Coordinates schedules of patients in an outpatient clinic and provides clerical assistance toward the smooth operation of the facility. Directly supervises a group of Patient Services Representatives.

Duties:

  • Schedules patient appointments either by telephone or in patient demographics on new patients and updates demographics on established telephone calls and distributes to the appropriate and enters healthcare providers schedules into the schedules as directed to patient requiring multiple services.
  • Greets patients as they come into the clinic for scheduled payments and writes the encounter form for completeness and insurance cards and distributes to the appropriate encounter forms and billing packets for patients to be prepare and type daily and closes cash box ancillary forms for other services to include but not limited to x-rays vascular studies and faxes physician schedules to offices.
  • Pulls patient charts for appointments or to file lab x-ray hospital information or other information into the medical records for patients and other providers or patient inactive patient charts for storage. Maintains log of charts in charts that have been sent to storage that are needed in the torn charts with new up new patient charts and/or packets of medical records from other facilities.
  • Discusses financial accounts with insurance eligibility and primary care physicians for referrals to other providers for HMO referrals from PCPs for HMO patients to be seen in the and verifies proof of income in order to determine what sliding scale discount is appropriate.
  • Dispenses supplies as appropriate person when supplies are low and need to be notes and letters for immunization mail receipts according to University and distributes mail.
  • Supervises the work of subordinates to ensure interviews and offers opinion of new in conducting performance time off for employees.
  • Acts as a backup for other Team some work of other Team Leaders toensure complete other Team Leaders diffuse difficult situations.
  • Performs various duties as needed in order to successfully fulfill the function of the position.
