Job Summary
Private Family in Greenwich CT Seeking a Live-In Household Manager / Cook
- Position: Full-Time Live-In Household Manager / Cook
- Schedule: MondayFriday with a flexible daily schedule. The candidate may structure their day as needed and be available to prepare a 5:30 dinner most weeknights. Weekend work is not required though occasional availability to answer simple questions or handle the repair of any breakdowns that may arise concerning HVAC system etc is appreciated.
- Salary: $120000 could be more depending on experience
- Benefits: Full healthcare 2 weeks PTO (after 1 year of employment) and 6 major paid holidays
- Start Date:ASAP

About the Family
A private mature couple is seeking an experienced Live-In Housekeeper / Household Manager / Cook to help maintain their peaceful residence and ensure the household runs smoothly. The environment is very quiet and low-key and the principals value discretion professionalism friendliness and someone who takes pride in maintaining an organized home.
The home is approximately 10000 square feet though only a small portion of the house is used regularly. The property sits on 8 acres. The candidate will live in a private one-bedroom apartment above the garage.
The wife is sometimes away from the home and the husbandwho continues to work dailyis 83 years old has some memory issues so the family is seeking someone who is patient respectful and sensitive to his needs. This is not a caregiving role but the candidate should be comfortable in this environment.
Children: None
Pets: None (cats allowed for the candidate; no dogs)
Household Staff: None
Responsibilities
- Full housekeeping and daily upkeep of the home
- Initiating and maintaining organization and projects and ensuring the home is well-kept and running efficiently
- Managing vendors and household service appointments
- Running household errands including grocery shopping and purchasing household supplies
- Preparing dinners (Italian or American style meals such as roasted chicken lobster with pasta/sauce or broiled salmon with dijon sauce)
- Maintaining a calm and respectful presence in a very private household
Ideal Candidate & Personality
The ideal candidate is mature dependable and highly organized with previous experience working in private homes. They should be comfortable managing a household independently and have the ability to anticipate needs and complete projects without supervision. They should enjoy cooking.
This role is best suited for someone who appreciates a quiet structured household environment and takes pride in maintaining a beautiful and well-functioning home. The family values someone who is discreet professional flexible with scheduling and committed to long-term employment.
