Job Summary
Position Description:
We are looking for a Lead Platform Engineer to support a large-scale data platform transformation program migrating legacy data warehouse environments to a Databricks Lakehouse architecture on Azure.
The role will work within the Central Migration Team (CMT) and collaborate with Local Migration Teams (LMT) in multiple countries (including Poland Hungary and Slovakia). The engineer will lead technical platform activities and ensure alignment with the Data Platform reference architecture.
Job responsibilities:
Lead the technical implementation of the Databricks platform environment
Support the setup and optimization of Azure Databricks infrastructure
Ensure compliance with the reference architecture and Lakehouse design
Guide engineering teams on best practices for data pipeline development and platform usage
Support deployment of migration accelerators and automation frameworks
Ensure efficient setup of:
Drive platform reliability scalability and performance
Provide technical guidance to local migration team
Support troubleshooting and technical design decisions across countries
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Strong experience with Azure Databricks
Expertise in Apache Spark
Strong knowledge of Python and SQL
Experience designing and operating data platforms on Azure
Experience with data lakehouse architectures
Hands-on experience with Unity Catalog / Delta Lake
Experience with CI/CD pipelines for data platforms
Experience in large-scale data migration or modernization programsMinimum B2 level of English and fluent command of Polish (both written and verbal) - this is a must
