About the role-Kōrero mō te tūranga

The Senior Adviser Offshore Healthcare Provisions will ensure our people and their dependants receive reliable compassionate offshore healthcare while posted or travelling overseas.

Key duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Manage the implementation of offshore healthcare policies and standards ensuring they remain fit for purpose and meet the evolving needs of staff and their dependants.
  • Manage the Ministrys offshore healthcare provider contract overseeing service delivery and driving continuous improvement for quality and value.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and our offshore healthcare administrator to implement policy and enhance systems and processes for a seamless user experience.
  • Provide expert advice and clear communication to support decision-making and ensure staff understand offshore healthcare provisions.
  • Monitor service delivery and analyse data to inform policy updates and contractual improvements.
  • Financial administration and budget management in line with Ministry policy and guidelines

Band 17 role. The salary range for this role is from $106973 to midpoint $125850 total remuneration inclusive of our KiwiSaver employer contribution. We expect to appoint depending on your level of skills and expereince.

Wed like to hear from you if you are an experienced Adviser with the following skills and experience:

  • At least 3 years practical experience that includes activities such as operational policy management in a government or large multi-disciplinary organization.
  • Proven track record managing complex programmes and vendor contracts where there is a need to consider options risk benefits and mitigation strategies and make informed decisions.
  • Experience and proven track record of developing and implementation of effective operational policy and procedures
  • Strong analytical and policy skills
  • An interest in health care and high levels of discretion and compassion
  • Understanding of The Treaty of Waitangi/Te Tiriti Te Reo Māori and Māori customs and protocols would be beneficial.
