Job Summary

Minimum Experience: 4 years; 1st Timers not accepted (BOTH HARD STOPS) Patient Population: A busy SPD which covers the Main OR with services to include General GYN (minimal usually only Robotic) Cardiovascular/Thoracic Open Hearts Laparoscopic Urology Ortho Ortho/Totals Neuro Spine and Crani and Organ Procurement. Certifications Required: CBSPD and IAHCSMM/HSPA preferred General Skills and Work Setting Requirements: Flexible Cystoscopes SPD Sterilization Equipment - Steris Steam Sterilizers and Stryker VP4 Machines SPD Decontam Equipment - Steris and Belimed Ultrasonic Washers Steris Cart Washer Steris Washer/Disinfectors Ability to serve as a preceptor for potential peers on the central services team and new orienting employees. Serves as willing cooperative informative supportive guide for new employees. Minimum expectations for all the SPD contractors is to have a bioburden error rate of .1% or less on a monthly basis and a tray average (100 instruments per tray) of 20 per day. Ratio / Census: 15 rooms with average surgical volume of 25-40; daily tray volume is approximately 224 Unit Systems: SPM System Scrub Color: Provided by the facility RTO: MAX 7 days RTO Blackout Dates: Spring Break (April 4th-12th) Weekends: Every other weekend unless specified elsewhere Floating: Yes within sectors of SPD Call Requirements: Rare Holidays: If one major holiday falls in his/her assignment period the traveler is expected to work it. If two major holidays fall in his/her assignment period the traveler is expected to work both of the holidays. If three major holidays fall in his/her assignment period the traveler is expected to work two of the holidays. Major Holidays are listed below: Memorial Day Independence Day Labor Day Thanksgiving/Black Friday Christmas Eve/Christmas Day New Years Eve/New Years Day Compliance: Full compliance required to start on time; if not compliant in time the push back is 2 weeks due to bi-weekly orientation schedule. CLINICAL SCREEN - Candidate will be reviewed by clinical to determine clinical fit if clinical pass and within Piedmont guidelines candidate will be sent to the manager for final decision. Clinical screens will be sent on case-by-case basis.
