Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Developer with extensive experience in software development and a strong background in DB2 Mainframe technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing developing and maintaining software applications that meet our business needs. This role requires a proactive individual who can work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.

Responsibilities:

Design develop and implement software solutions using DB2 Mainframe technologies.
Collaborate with cross functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
Debug and troubleshoot software issues providing timely resolutions.
Maintain and enhance existing applications ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Participate in project planning and estimation activities.
Document software designs processes and procedures for future reference.
Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve software development practices.

Mandatory Skills:

7 10 years of experience in software development.
Strong expertise in DB2 Mainframe technologies.
Proficient in programming languages such as COBOL Java or C#.
Experience with software development methodologies (Agile Waterfall).
Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills both verbal and written.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with cloud technologies and modern software development practices.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
Knowledge of additional databases and programming languages.
Experience in mentoring junior developers.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
Relevant certifications in software development or database management are a plus.
