Job Summary
Position: Long Term Substitute 2nd Shift CustodianReports To: Director of Physical PlantPosition Summary:The Custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness safety and general upkeep of school buildings and grounds including classrooms offices restrooms hallways and common Include:Cleaning classrooms lavatories hallways and other school areas;Sweeping mopping dusting vacuuming and emptying trash;Maintaining floors including stripping and waxing as needed;Operating floor cleaning and maintenance equipment;Ensuring restrooms and supply dispensers are stocked;Assisting with snow and ice removal from walkways and entrances;Performing exterior cleaning including picking up litter and basic grounds maintenance;Moving furniture and equipment for school activities and events;Assisting maintenance staff when needed;Helping prepare areas for classes and special events;Performing other related duties as :High school diploma or GED;Valid drivers license (preferred);Prior custodial or related experience preferred;Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow safety procedures;Physical Requirements:Ability to stand and move for extended periods;Ability to bend squat and twist regularly during an 8-hour shift;Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds;Ability to operate custodial equipment and climb ladders when necessary.**Full Job description available upon request**
