3 Month Contract With A local Authority
Job Purpose
To deliver high-quality electrical repairs maintenance and testing services within the Direct Labour Organisation (DLO) ensuring all work is safe compliant and meets customer expectations. The role supports residents internal teams and partners by maintaining electrical systems and providing accurate reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out electrical repairs and maintenance in domestic properties
Conduct electrical inspections testing and fault finding
Complete Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) surveys and safety checks
Perform Portable Appliance Testing (PAT)
Ensure all work complies with current wiring regulations and health & safety standards
Produce clear accurate reports and certification
Deliver excellent customer service to residents and stakeholders
Work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners
Maintain tools equipment and company vehicle
Participate in out-of-hours/emergency call-out rota when required
Requirements
Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification (e.g. NVQ / City & Guilds) with AM2
Inspection & Testing qualification (City & Guilds 2391 or 2395)
18th Edition Wiring Regulations (City & Guilds 2382-18/20)
Minimum 5 years experience in electrical installation and/or maintenance
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
Experience in domestic or social housing (desirable)
Full UK driving licence (max 6 points no serious offences)
Minimum 2 years driving experience
Willingness to undertake out-of-hours work
Good communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
