Job Summary

  • Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies to drive revenue growth margin improvement and market share.
  • Analyze sales data market trends and customer behavior to inform assortment planning pricing and promotional strategies.
  • Collaborate with design sourcing and supply chain teams to ensure timely delivery of products that align with category goals.
  • Manage category P&L monitor KPIs (e.g. sell-through rates inventory turnover gross margin) and deliver performance reports.
  • Conduct competitive benchmarking and market intelligence to identify opportunities and threats in the fashion space.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives including product launches markdown planning and seasonal planning cycles.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure product quality availability and compliance.
  • Represent the category in strategic planning meetings and contribute to long-term business planning.
  • Stay ahead of emerging fashion trends consumer preferences and digital retail innovations to maintain a competitive edge.


Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Fashion Merchandising Business Marketing or a related field.
  • 25 years of proven experience in category management fashion merchandising or retail planning within the fashion industry.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau Power BI) and retail analytics platforms.
  • In-depth knowledge of fashion product lifecycle seasonal planning and inventory management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent communication negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with ERP or POS systems (e.g. SAP Oracle Retail) is a plus.
  • Proven track record of delivering measurable improvements in category performance.
  • Strong understanding of Indian fashion retail market dynamics and consumer behavior.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for vendor meetings trade shows or brand events.
