Job Summary

Summary/Objectives The front desk clerk/receptionist performs routine clerical secretarial and administrative work in answering telephones receiving the public providing customer assistance data processing and record-keeping.


Wage-$17/hr-$19/hr -Based on qualifications

Essential Functions

  1. STANDS to greet visitors/customers in a prompt and friendly manner.
  2. Maintains office appearance and assists with administrative tasks.
  3. Answers central telephone system and directs calls accordingly.
  4. Receives the public and answers questions in person and by telephone; responds to inquiries from employees citizens and others and refers when necessary to the appropriate person or department.
  5. Operates office machines as required.
  6. Prepares outgoing mail; sorts and distributes incoming mail.
  7. Duplicates and distributes materials.
  8. Composes types and edits correspondence reports memorandum and other material.
  9. Assists staff with projects as needed.
  10. Maintains office supply inventory.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers phones photocopiers filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are possibly Monday through Sunday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.


Travel

No travel is expected for this position.


Required Education and Experience

  1. Graduation from high school or GED equivalent with specialized course work in general office practices such as typing filing accounting and bookkeeping.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  1. Two years of increasingly responsible related experience or any equivalent combination of related education and experience
