Position overview:
An experienced Supervisor is required to lead and manage production operations within a Just-in-Time (JIT) seat assembly environment. The role requires strong leadership sound decision-making under pressure and the ability to manage a large shift-based workforce while ensuring quality safety and delivery targets are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage daily production activities within a JIT seat assembly environment
- Lead motivate and manage a shift complement of approximately 65 employees
- Ensure adherence to production schedules quality standards and OEM requirements
- Maintain compliance with health safety and environmental standards
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support automation enhancements
- Monitor productivity efficiency and downtime implementing corrective actions where required
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams including logistics quality and engineering
- Prepare and submit operational reports to management
- Make sound quick decisions in a highly pressurized production environment
Key skills and Qualifications:
- Supervisory Certification Minimum Requirement
- National Diploma in Production / Operations Management Preferred
- Minimum of 8 years Supervisory experience in an automotive JIT seat assembly environment (essential)
- Proven experience working within a Tier 1 supplier supplying directly into an OEM (essential)
- Strong IT skills with a good understanding of automation systems
- Ability to generate innovative ideas to support continuous improvement initiatives
- Strong decision-making capability with the ability to act quickly and decisively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated people-management capability across large production teams
