Courier

The Courier 1 picks up and delivers packages and is expected to distribute and route mail and packages from one destination to another. Performs a variety of duties under the supervision of the Client Services Specialist and the Outreach Coordinator including but not limited to the pick up of lab specimens and delivering orders and supplies to and from clients on an assigned route. The position relies on established guidelines to accomplish tasks and works under close supervision.

1. Collection/Distribution of Packages/Mail: This will have been satisfactorily performed when
   1. Lab specimens on an assigned route are delivered and picked up on a predetermined schedule 97% of the time.
   2. Supply orders from client locations are picked up and requested supplies delivered to them as needed at all times.
   3. OSHA and IATA specimen handling and transport requirements are complied with 100% of the time.
   4. Posted delivery schedule times are met with less than three late runs per quarter.
2. Driving Duties: This will have been satisfactorily performed when
   1. Supervisor is notified of vehicle service issues and assures that the vehicles are clean and safe to operate at all times.
   2. All traffic regulations are followed 100% of time and has zero occurrences of accidents due to own fault. Any violations are reported to the manager immediately.
   3. Vehicle is returned in a clean and orderly condition at the end of shift.
3. Other Duties as Assigned: This will have been satisfactorily performed when
   1. Other duties as assigned are completed.

• 5 years of good driving experience: no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years and zero DUI convictions or reckless driving convictions; periodic motor vehicle/ driving record checks may be obtained throughout employment

• Valid LA drivers license (or must obtain one within probationary employment period if coming from out of state)
