Job Description: Regional Collections Manager Telangana

Position: Regional Collections Manager (RCM)
Reports To: Zonal / National Collections Head
Role Overview
The Regional Collections Manager will be responsible for leading and driving collection strategies across the state of Telangana. The role involves managing a large and diverse team of Collection Managers (CMs) and Area Collection Managers (ACMs) along with end-to-end oversight of collection agencies vendor performance and portfolio health.
The RCM will ensure strong process governance improved recoveries and adherence to organizational compliance standards while delivering on regional collection targets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership & Performance Management
- Lead mentor and manage a team of Collection Managers and Area Collection Managers across Telangana.
- Conduct regular performance reviews capability assessments and provide necessary coaching to enhance team effectiveness.
- Ensure alignment of team members to regional and organizational collection goals.
- Drive productivity through planning monitoring and continuous improvement.
2. Portfolio Management
- Oversee Secured / Unsecured / SME / Consumer Finance portfolios as per business allocation.
- Monitor bucket-wise delinquency flow rates and recovery trends across the region.
- Implement action plans for high-risk buckets and ensure timely resolution of critical cases.
- Analyze portfolio trends highlight risks and recommend corrective actions.
3. Agency Management
- Identify onboard and manage collection agencies field executives and vendors across Telangana.
- Ensure agencies adhere to compliance code of conduct and operational guidelines.
- Track agency performance through scorecards KPIs and regular performance reviews.
- Resolve escalations disputes or operational bottlenecks impacting field execution.
4. Compliance Governance & Audit
- Ensure 100% adherence to Regulatory guidelines RBI directives and company compliance protocols.
- Implement audit recommendations and maintain strong control discipline across teams and agencies.
- Conduct field audits agency visits and compliance trainings.
5. Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with Branch Heads Sales Leaders Risk Legal and Operations for coordinated actions.
- Provide portfolio insights MIS updates and regional performance reports to senior management.
- Handle escalated customer cases with maturity and solution-driven communication.
6. Strategy & Process Excellence
- Develop regional collection strategies aligned to geography-specific behaviours and demographics.
- Drive adoption of digital tools automation and tech-enabled collection solutions.
- Lead regional initiatives to improve cost efficiency recovery effectiveness and customer experience.
Qualifications & Experience
- Graduate / Post-Graduate in any discipline (MBA preferred).
- 812 years of total experience in Collections with minimum 35 years in a managerial or regional leadership role.
- Strong exposure to managing multi-location teams and agencies.
- Proven track record of achieving collection targets and improving portfolio health.
