Position Summary
The Tax Director will oversee client engagements provide strategic tax planning guidance and lead a team of tax professionals delivering compliance and advisory services to a diverse client base.
This role requires deep technical tax expertise along with strong leadership and relationship management skills. The position will work closely with business owners executive teams and firm leadership to deliver high-quality tax services and support the continued growth of the practice.
Key Responsibilities
Client Advisory & Tax Strategy

Provide strategic tax planning and advisory services to clients

Analyze tax implications related to business transactions and financial decisions

Monitor tax law developments and communicate implications to clients
Engagement Oversight

Review complex tax returns for corporations partnerships and individuals

Ensure accuracy compliance and timely delivery of client engagements

Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously
Leadership & Team Development

Supervise and mentor tax managers seniors and staff

Provide technical guidance and training to engagement teams

Support professional development within the tax practice
Client Relationship Management

Serve as a trusted advisor to clients and maintain strong long-term relationships

Participate in client meetings and strategic planning discussions

Identify opportunities to expand services and deepen client partnerships
Practice Growth

Support business development initiatives and practice expansion

Assist with proposals and client presentations

Collaborate with firm leadership on strategic initiatives
Qualifications
-
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field

CPA license required
-
10 years of public accounting tax experience

Strong background in tax planning compliance and advisory services

Prior experience managing client relationships and supervising tax professionals
